Commerce Platform Upgrade – .NET 10
Delivered - June 2026
Core infrastructure upgrade
Delivered, June 2026
Platform-wide performance and stability improvement
What changed
The core framework OE Commerce runs on was upgraded to .NET 10, the current long-term support version of Microsoft's technology.
This was the second step of a two-stage modernisation:
April 2025 - the platform moved from .NET 4.7 to .NET 8, retiring a framework that was many years old.
June 2026 - the platform moved from .NET 8 to .NET 10.

Key benefits
Improved performance. Faster processing behind the scenes, which is most noticeable on large catalogues and busy stores.
Increased stability and security. A current, supported framework, which matters for both reliability and security patching.
A foundation for what follows. This upgrade is what makes the current programme of work practical, including the headless APIs, the Liquid theming engine and the AI tooling on your storefront.
Note for merchants
This was not a feature release. It is a technical upgrade, and there was nothing for you to do. It is recorded here because it underpins much of what has been delivered since.
The announcement for this upgrade is in the Release Notes.
