Branding
Overview
The Branding Calculator is an app that integrates directly into your storefront, allowing customers to configure and price branded products. Once installed, the calculator will appear on your product pages as well as on the cart page for branding edits. This guide walks you through each step of the installation and configuration process.
Step 1: Install the Branding App
Navigate to the Apps section in your store's back office.
Select OrderEazi to view all apps developed by the OrderEazi team. This will display a page showing the apps you currently have installed.
Click Get More Apps in the top right corner to browse all available uninstalled apps.
Use the search bar to search for "Branding", or scroll through the app library until you find it.
Click the Install button to install the Branding App.
Step 2: Add Your Store to the App Configuration
Once the app has been installed, open it from your Apps section.
Add your store to the branding app configuration.
Once your store has been added, click Edit on the store entry to begin configuring it.
Step 3: Configure Branding Settings for Your Store
Inside the configuration panel, you will find the following settings to complete:
General Settings
Currency β Select the currency that will be used for price display in the branding calculator.
VAT Display β Choose whether prices should be displayed including VAT (Incl) or excluding VAT (Excl).
Supplier Settings
Enable the supplier data feed(s) you wish to sync into your store. Please note the following important rules:
If brandings are priced at cost price from the supplier, please ensure you apply tax accordingly.
If brandings are priced after VAT has already been applied, leave the VAT % field set to 0.
Connecting to Your Supplier
To link your account to the correct branding pricing from your chosen supplier, you will need to enable the relevant supplier and enter your credentials. Depending on the supplier, this will either be:
An Account ID β a unique identifier provided to you by the supplier, or
A Username and Password β your login credentials as registered with the supplier.
These details ensure that the branding calculator pulls through the correct pricing specific to your account. If you are unsure of your credentials, please contact your supplier directly.
Understanding Margin vs. Markup
For each supplier, you will configure two pricing fields β Margin and Markup. You only need to set one of the two; the other should be left at 0.
Margin is your profit expressed as a percentage of the selling price. For example, a 30% margin on a R100 selling price means R30 is profit and R70 is the cost. Formula: Profit Γ· Selling Price Γ 100
Markup is your profit expressed as a percentage of the cost price. For example, a 30% markup on a R70 cost means you add R21, making the selling price R91. Formula: Profit Γ· Cost Price Γ 100
Which should you use? If you think in terms of your selling price (e.g. "I want to keep 30 cents of every rand I make"), use Margin. If you think in terms of what something costs you (e.g. "I want to add 30% on top of what I paid"), use Markup.
If you set Margin to 0, no margin will be applied. If you set Markup to 0, no markup will be applied. Do not set both β use one or the other per supplier.
Install the Calculator on Your Storefront
Once your supplier settings are saved, install the calculator on the frontend of your store. This will make the branding calculator available to your customers directly on your product and cart pages.
Data Sync
After saving your configuration, your supplier data will begin syncing automatically. From that point forward, data will re-sync every 24 hours.
If you need to force an initial sync to test the frontend, please contact your system administrator or support team to trigger a manual sync.
