# Cart

Sets a minimum order value before a shopper is allowed to check out. This is used where fulfilling very small orders costs more than it earns.

### Settings

* **Minimum Amount** - the order value a shopper must reach before they can check out. Leave this at zero to accept orders of any value.
* **Message** - the wording shown to a shopper whose cart is below the minimum. A clear message here tells them how much more they need to add.

### How to Set a Minimum Order Value

1. Select the store you would like to update
2. Click on Manage Store Settings underneath Settings
3. Open Shopping Experience
4. Open the Cart section
5. Enter the minimum amount and the message shown to shoppers
6. Save your changes

{% hint style="warning" %}
A minimum order value stops shoppers below it from checking out at all. Set it carefully, and make sure the message explains what they need to do.
{% endhint %}
