# Logo & favicon

Your store logo appears in the storefront header. Your favicon is the small icon shown in the browser tab, and the one used when a customer bookmarks your store or adds it to their phone's home screen.

### Before You Start

Have both images ready on your computer. A logo works best as a wide image with a transparent background. A favicon is displayed very small, so a simple mark or single letter usually reads better than a full logo.

### How to Upload Your Logo and Favicon

1. Click on the store you wish to update
2. Click on Manage Store Settings underneath Settings
3. Open Store Identity
4. Open the Logo & favicon section
5. Click on the Add Logo box, or the Add Favicon box
6. Select the image you want to upload from your folders
7. Repeat for the second image
8. Save your changes
9. Open your storefront and refresh the page to check the header logo, and look at the browser tab to check the favicon

If your new logo looks stretched or cropped, check the sizes being generated from it under Image Sizes > Logo.

Browsers hold on to favicons for a long time. If the tab icon has not changed, try a private browsing window before assuming the upload failed.
