# Warehouses

Warehouses are the locations where the merchant's stock is physically held. Setting them up allows stock to be tracked per location rather than as a single pooled figure, which matters as soon as the merchant holds stock in more than one place.

Each warehouse can optionally be linked to a vendor, which is useful where stock is held by a supplier rather than by the merchant.

### Setting Up a Warehouse

#### Location

* **Name** - the name used to identify the warehouse. This is required.
* **Vendor** - the vendor the location belongs to, where the stock is held by a supplier. Leave this as None for the merchant's own locations.

#### Address

The physical address of the warehouse, made up of up to three address lines, the town, the postal code, the region and the country.

### How to Add a Warehouse

1. Click on System at the bottom of the left-hand menu
2. Click on Warehouses
3. Click to create a new warehouse
4. Enter the name and, if applicable, the vendor
5. Enter the address for the location
6. Click Save
