# Badges, Metadata and Tags Data Transfer Profile

Added a Data Transfer Framework profile for product badges, metadata and tags, so these can be imported and exported in bulk.

**This includes:**

* A Data Transfer Framework profile covering product badges, metadata and tags
* Bulk import to apply values across many products at once
* Bulk export to review what is currently set, or to edit in a spreadsheet and load back

**How it benefits the Merchant**

Badges, metadata and tags were previously set one product at a time, which made them impractical to use across a large catalogue. You can now apply a sale badge to a whole range, tag a season's products for a campaign, or load the metadata a shopping feed needs, in a single import.

Q: Where do I find this?

A: Under System > Import and System > Export, by selecting the relevant profile.

Q: Can I export what is already set before I change anything?

A: Yes, and it is worth doing. Export first, keep the file, and you have a record of the previous values.

Q: What is product metadata used for?

A: Custom key and value pairs held against a product. They are not shown to customers, and are typically used by integrations and shopping feeds, for example a Google Category ID.
