# Editing Product Image Alt Text

Fixed being unable to edit the alternative text on a product image.

**How it benefits the Merchant**

Alternative text describes an image for customers using a screen reader, and is also read by search engines. With it uneditable, there was no way to correct or improve it. You can now maintain it properly, which helps both accessibility and how your product images rank in image search.
