# Order Expiry Webhook

Added a webhook that fires when an order expires, so connected systems can react to an unpaid order lapsing.

**This includes:**

* A webhook event raised when an order expires
* Available alongside the other webhook events under System > Webhooks

**How it benefits the Merchant**

Orders placed but never paid for eventually expire. Until now, a connected system had no way of knowing that had happened, so stock allocations and records in other systems could drift out of step with the store. Subscribing to this event lets your accounting, stock or fulfilment system release or close the order automatically.

**Potential FAQs**

Q: Where do I subscribe to it?

A: Under System > Webhooks. Create a webhook, enter the address of the receiving system, and select the order expiry event.

Q: How long does an order take to expire?

A: That is set per store under Store Settings > Orders > Order settings, using the expiry time in hours.

Q: Can I see what the notification will contain?

A: Yes. An example payload is shown for the events you select when configuring the webhook.
