# Zones

Zone content lets you add content to pages you cannot otherwise edit, such as product pages and category pages. You might use it to add extra product information, or to place a promotional banner on a category page.

Zones are how you make a generated page carry your own messaging, which is a straightforward way to stand out from stores running an untouched template.

### How to Add Zone Content

1. Scroll down to the store menu and click on the name of the store you wish to add zone content to
2. On the store home page, click on Zones under Content
3. Click on the Create icon
4. Click the Create button under Zones
5. Enter your zone details, including the permalinks of the pages the content should appear on, and click Create
6. You now have a blank zone. Click Edit at the top right to start building it
7. Drag and drop grids and parts, meaning widgets, onto the zone to lay it out
8. Once your grids and parts are in place, add your content to them
9. Click Publish in the top right to take the zone live
10. Open one of the pages you targeted on your storefront to confirm the content appears

{% hint style="info" %}
The permalinks you enter determine where the zone appears. Getting these right is the whole trick, so check one of the target pages on your storefront after publishing.
{% endhint %}

{% hint style="warning" %}
Zone content is not visible to customers until you click Publish.
{% endhint %}
